starter getting too hot?

Default starter getting too hot?

lately ive been noticing that my starter is gettin too hot and i dont no how to go about this, is there like a heat shield i can get to cover the starter bay area or something? suggestions please!

how do you know? if you touch your battery connectors you can tell. if they are hot then your starter is overpowering itself. of course dont touch them with anything metal... common sense on that part though.

My old 83 had the same problem with Hedman headers and a stock starter. They have a heat wrap that you can cut to size. I cut a piece, wrapped my starter, and then stapled it. This keeps much of the exhaust heat off of it.
