I have a 95 mustang Gt. It has 144,000 miles on it i bought it last year. Well when i have 87 octane in it and i go to stand in gas it pings alot and loses power or when im pulling out or just going up a hill and just give it a little gas it pings really bad the check engine light comes on for about a minute then goes out. When i put 94 octane in it alot of the pinging goes away and theres more power. But also after u get to about 2500 rpm or 3000 rpm theres no more power. Its like theres nothing else there. its just slow im wondering what i could do to make it run better or if anyone knows what the problem is. I talked to some people at ford they think it could be a fuel pump but im not sure. Can anyone help me please email me at Warriorracer94@aol.com if you have any ideas.

your timming is advanced too much, check it,retard it,or maybe 101 octane ... cheaper to time it
