Default Blow-by?

How do you check for possible oil blow-by?
At first I was thinking it was my PS pump, but now im thinkin oil is gettin out somewhere.
I have a few odd things that make me thing it is, oil pressure is very irratic, its either kinda high or quite low, sometimes it reacts to reving the engine a bit or sometimes it will go down when I rev a little.

What are something to check and or replace?

Do, or have done, a compression check.

Pull the spark plugs and if they are really black or have oil on them you got blow by. Another possibility for erratic oil presure is a bad rod bearing or bad oil pump.

Yea a blown head gasket or piston ring will do it too. If that is the case tho youd likely see white smoke often coming out your pipes.

i had/ have blow by and its because ur crankcase isn't ventilating enough. have u checked ur pcv? do u have a breather on ur vavle cover(my problem need one). wirh my car though in the higher rpms the pressure builds and pushes the dipstick out with oil right behind it

yeah i put in a new PCV with the engine, but maybe its bad already. I have a breather on the PASS side valve cover, but maybe it isnt sufficiant enough to get the job done...
