I have serious gas mileage, gas smellin exhaust issues.
So i went out and bought a code reader.

So here are the ones that came up when the car was NOT running.

Heres the ones while running. I did not check the timing like it said, i'll buy a timing gun tomorrow and check, then return it, woot.
One thing really got me confused. The reader came back as checking 6 cyls. Not sure why it didnt do 8cyl. I have NO idea why i did it, maybe someone could tell me.

Also while i was at it my air filter is POOOCHED. on my way to get a new one. I have cai through fender.

I need help, cant afford to drive this thing.

what code reader did you purchase?

I highly doubt the codes are going to be accurate if it doesn't load the correct parameters for you car(6 Cyl instead of 8)

besides bad gas mileage and the smell is the car running good?

 

also what are the specs on your car? Year & tranny specifically. I looked up a couple of those codes and they are 2.3L faults. something did not go right when you scanned the car.

Its an 88 5.0 5spd.

Car seems to run fine other than the previous gas issues.
Some of my injectors are leaking a lil bit ( not enough to smell bad like im experiencing )and at idle if i rev the engine it seems to take a while for the rpm's to get back to normal. 900 ish

My problem is definitely my O2 Sensors, and the EGR Valve...

 

So reading for codes wont specifically tell you your o2 sensor is bad?


One of those codes say my egr valve is not opening all the way or sumthing.

egr valve expensive?. and what else should i get alone with it.

i ordered my o2 sensor today even before i got the reader. also they only had one listed and they said it was for 'up top' or sumthing.
i dont have catalytic converters, they said thats y. YES im green.
