How much does a small block ford weigh versus a big block ford? I am wanting to go big block, but if the weight difference is too great i just amy build a small block stroker windsor instead. Thanks, Robert

 

Im not sure the difference between a 351W and a 390 but I know that the 351W is about 70lbs heavier than a 302W

 

i mean the difference between a windsor and a 460 big block. I am debating on rather the extra torque is worth the extra weight. Thanks, and i didnt know that the windsoe weighed more than the 302, good info man, thanks!!

 

just stroke it out... you get more torque the longer the stroke and less weight

hell... take a 351 to a 427

 

yeah, but i could take a big block to over 557 cubes easily. It is about the same horsepower wise, but the 557 has about 100ft lbs of torque more.

 

one thing you might wanna look into is making it fit... and having a huge engine in there is good for one thing... going straight

 

that is all i want it for, to go straight and i have talked to several people, they fit nice into the fox engine bay with plenty of room. If it weighs like 300 pound more then it wouldnt be worth it, otherwise, i probably will go big block.

 

so noone knows what a big block weighs versus a smal block?
