Default BOOST GAUGE HELP

My gauge indicates about 10 on the vacuum side at idle and then drops to about 20 while driving down the road..it will then fluctuate between 10-20..until I hit the throttle and the supercharger kicks in..and then the guage stops at 0...

Could it be a faulty guage instead of the vacuum leak I am looking for..

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

try out another gauge, but it sounds like youve got your gauge hooked in the wrong place... try to take a direct source right off the intake manifold

If your gauge indicates 10inches of vacuum at idle your car should be running like crap unless you have a huge cam. If not, there is something else wrong.

Yeah, that's definitely strange. 0 boost at acceleration and 10 inches of vacuum at idle is completely off. I bet it's hooked up wrong too.

When you turn the car off, where does the gauge stay?

10 inches of vacum isnt off that much, I have a b-303 cam and it has 12 inches of vacum at idle.
but there is something wrong if it goes to 0 when there is boost.

where do you have it hooked up?

I was thinking the same thing. The boost, or lack there of, is definitely not right.

Good news is there is no vacuum leak screwing up the gauge...the gauge is fine...The Powerdyne Supercharger is broken...I have to send it out to be rebuilt...

Motor burns oil too..I think the valve seals or something in the heads...I have alot of deep black smoke when I start it up after it sits all night..

Basically kid that sold it too me lied about the motor...oh well..took it off the road this morning. I will be rebuilding the motor this winter.....new cam..ported heads and new rebuilt supercharger..maybe a 331 stroker too.

Thanks for the help all who responded.
