Default Timing help...

I bought a light today and I'm trying to bump my timing. I have the light hooked up correctly but its a real pain to read the marks on the dampener. Should there be any numbers on the dampener? Also, the stationary mark is barely there...its the little slach and the crescent shaped thing, toward the upper side, right?

I'm thinking it'll be easier to read in the dark.

Won't the chalk come off if its rotating like that? What am I looking for on the stationary part? In the tutorial in the tech articles it had him mark on the stationary thing, not the balancer.

Sorry, I know these questions have been asked a million times and I have tried searching.

Okay, I can now see that the 10* mark is right is the edge where the stationary piece turns from flat to curved on the right side...is that where it's supposed to be?

i marked mine with a paint marker. It does no good to mark something stationary when the line your trying to see is moving fast as hell

Oh, so you guys marks the 14* on the dampener?

Well, what and where is it supposed to line up with on the stationary metal piece?

Okay, maybe this will help clarify my questions....this is the stationary piece I'm talking about

The red mark is where 14* is and the yellow is where the 10* mark is....so which is the car set at? I honestly dont know where on that piece of metal the timing marks should be lining up.

It's at 14. Adjust to the edge of the timing marker.
