Heres the deal,
1. 89' Gt, white, 5spd, 105k miles, 1 owner, completly stock, excellent condition good paint small chip on bumper, all original. Dealer.3900 out the door

2. 89' Lx, maroonish,5spd,136K miles w/ synthetic oils, 3 owners, 3.73 gears,5K paint job, headers,chrome ponys, excellent condition. private party.3700 out the door.

both are great cars, need second opinion, I spending my limit, so I wont have money to put in Mod's.

 

i'm thinking both those prices are a little high

 

yeah i must agree, you can find cheaper than that. take your time when looking for a car and dont let your desires make you rush into it.

 

go with the GT, its stock, and usually if its still stock it hasnt been flogged to hard you know what i mean. whites a little better color in my opinion and just like the gt body better.

 

I would go with the white GT model with the stock set-up and the lower mileage. You can always try to negotiate a lower price from the seller and if they really want to move the car, they will deal with you somewhat.

 

I would say the gt also. Besides stock, not as many people have beat on it. Those prices do seem rather high though.

 

prices seem about right for a starting point, take the car that you can get for 3500.

 

i would get the lx. it already has a good amount of mods to it. dont get me wrong, i LOVE the GTs, but i like the lx deal better. if you are anywhere near Rochester, NY i know a guy who is sellin his '87 GT with full exhaust, intake stuff, and 3.55s for $3k. only prob is that it has a little rust, but only on doors and hatch

 

there is always rust on the hatch where the spoiler mets the deck lid

 

I found another 89'lx for 2800 smogged and registered, it has 3.73gears, full exhaust(h-pipes,headers,flowmaster,short shifter,3 core radiator,pulleys. and its fast, paint is okay, probally needs paint in about a 2 years.it has 115,000 miles on engine,150,000 on body, a few dents here and there.
