Default speed density mods

i hear people all the time saying you can't modd a speed density fox like you can a MAF one. i'm just wondering what things can't be done since i'm about to be in the market for modds very shortly. if it's critical, then maybe i should convert to mass air now? or can i wait?

SPEED DENSITY TAKES A BAD RAP..IF YOUR DOING A CAM JUST WATCH THE DURATION BECAUSE SD CARS NEED VACUM AT IDLE..IF YOU LOOK AT ALL THOSE MUSTANG BOOKS THERE BIG HORSEPOWER DYNO ENGINES ARE ALMOST ALWAYS SD SET UPS. YOU CAN DO JUST ABOUT ANYTHING WITH AN SD CAR.

You can work with SD its just once you get into cams, etc. it gets kind of complicated. Im pretty sure they make cams specifically designed for an SD setup. I had a 88 GT (SD) with all the bolt ons besides cam and heads and it was fine (u/l manifold, 70mm tb, egr, cai, pulleys, full exhaust, etc.)

I just read over twisters thread about SD. What about power adders. If I were to put a supercharger on top of an SD car, it could be adjusted. nitrous as well. It would be ok as long as I kept the fuel equal to the amount of air coming in? That was a good thread by the way.

sorry about the caps forgot it was on..almost all the gm tuneport cars are speed desity..i had an iroc vert with a supercharger and had no problems with the speed desity..i beleive its just easier to tune the maf cars but i dont beleive there are any power gains from switching to maf..my 86 vert was maf when i got it and i converted back to speed density because thats what im comfortable with..

that's cool. My parents are asking me about christmas presents and I told them that all I want is a N2O system. Then I got a little worried wondering how my computer would handle all that extra oxygen. I don't know if SD cars are faster but I sure do know that for a stock 20 year old car with exhaust, my 86 will move.

86's were great for the 8th! I remember pissing off guys by beating them to half track...unfortunatly, the high horsepower cars would blow by me in the last 1/8.....
