1-gears
2-subframes
3-shifter (if a 5 speed)
4-tires

You should be able to do all of the above for less than $1000.

you'd be close to 1K with that stuff
I'd say about like this:
Tires= 500$
shifter= 175$
subframes= 100$
gears=175 + install kit 75+
install of the rest= maybe 50$
Sounds like a good start, I'd sub the tires for a full exhaust though.

Yeah, you could definetely sub a full exhaust for the tires. I was thinking more like:
Tires (only rears) - $350
Shifter - $175
Subs welded in - $150
Gears - $150 (gefracing.com)
While the install kit is recommended, it is not necessary. I just had my 3.55s installed and only put in a new inner pinion bearing and race and a new pinion seal. Everything else was fine. The gear install is not necessarily cheap though. I paid $200 for mine.
