Default Carbed 302 leaning out, why?

Whats up guys, randomly the other day my Carbuerated 302 mustang started to lean out. Its back firing alot and the plugs are white white, and its overheating. BUT, The carb was tuned in very well only a week ago and this started yesterday for some freakin unknown reason. Timmings at 14 advanced, and I tested my in line eletric carter fuel pump and its flowing awesome. I'm not really too kin on tuning a carbuerator either, does anyone have any ideas or advice that could help me out. Its a demon 725, And its about to get smashed into about 459 pieces along with the rest of that stuipd F**king car >:-0

first thing i would check is for a vaccume leak.with the car idling take a can of starting fluid or brake cleaner and spray it aroung the carb base, the intake base, and any vaccume line connections. if the idle changes you have found your problem.

next is heat range of the spark plugs, make sure they are correct. to hot of a plug will cause white deposits.

you mentioned the car is overheating, and you mentioned the timing is set to 14, is this base timing or all in? out of time can cause an engine to run hot and overheat.

does the car surge at a constant speed (freeway?). if not i dont think its a fuel problem, if your engine is overheating this will cause the plugs to show the signs your seeing.

if you did not touch the carb it wont change any settings, unless you have a piece of dirt in a jet or passage. they wont go lean all of the sudden. once you set a carb and keep it clean it can be maitence free for many years. 20-30 or more if the gaskets dont go to crap.
