Ring Gap specifications please? I have my feeler guages and need to know this so that I file to fit. standard 4.000 bore


example .020 in etc

btw .018 inch is stock.

30 if boosting, 25 is nitrous its what we use in our shop.

yes this is VERY IMPORTANT.



Most people do things wrong on rings when installing![:'(]

1. put em on the piston WITH THEIR HAND instead of using a ring installer and therefore overexpanding.
when this happens, excessive friction and scratching on the cylinder walls occur and rings may hang.

2. they dont set the ring gap, and therefore with both of these errors, excessive friction and wear, and maximum performance is not achived.

3. Rings get put on upside down.

4. Slits are not in position when setting in cylinder.

5. Insufficent pre- lubrication in bores on intial start and run.
