Default help

so i was out driving my car the other day and a possum ran out in front of me. so i gave the brakes a solid stomp and everyone was fine. problem is my interior brake light stayed on. so when i stopped, i pumped the brakes a little and it went away. so i backed into the garage, pressed the brakes and it came on. for some reason it stays on all the time. i checked the brake fluid and it looked really brown. idk what its supposed to look like but it was full so i assume its ok. any ideas? thanks in advance
