Alright, it wont turn over but every 100th or so time, and when it does start up if you take it about say...2700 rpms it backfires really bad...anyone know why this is?

Have you done any recent work on it??? kind of sounds like your timing is off or a couple swapped plug wires...

Check the timing. Sounds like to much timing.

I just got new wires, so that might be it.
I'm going to go check the firing order. Which one do I start with?

Alright, is the timing easy to change?
If so, how do I do it, and what do I set it to?

got a timing light?...ground/pos #1 plug pull spouter point check if wrong...shut car off loosen hold down bolt start engine check and adjust to desired timing< stay with 10* till you know for sure what your problem is...shut car off tighten bolt plug spouter in restart and recheck timing.
