Whats the ideal throttle body
Whats a 70 mm throttle body going to do if you don't even have an intake opening that big? A 65mm tb can handle 550hp at the wheels no problem. I've seen it done. I think a 65mm is about as big as I'd go unless your going for forced induction.
Just make sure that your MAF is larger in diameter that your' TB. You want air flow to funnel into your engine. I have the stock filter box minus the silencer of course. I use the stock intake tubing because it has better resistance to engine heat than the super heat absorbent aluminum tubes. I use CnL's 73mm MAF housing. I like CnL because it uses the stock MAF sensor but fools it with a calibrated air tube. The stock MAF sensor is more accurate than most aftermarket. Then I purchased BBK's 70mm TB off e-Bay and printed the installation/calibration instructions of summit racings website. I needed to hone out the stock rubber elbow to fit over the TB. I had my stock EGR plate honed and matched to the TB. I also had the stock upper intake manifold honed and matched to the EGR plate. I was going to gasket match the rest of the manifold and match it to the heads. But it is my daily driven car and only had a weekend to get it done.
