Default Automatic to stick conver

I have a 1995 Gt convertable with the origional 78,000 miles on it, the 5.0 engine is in very good shape however the stock automatic transmission has seen better days, it was beat pretty hard by the previous owner, and requires a full rebuild or replacement. I feel sense I would rather have a 5 speed anyways I would just convert it over. Does anyone know of a manufacturer that sells a complete conversion kit to do the swap or will I have to buy each piece individually to swap it over? any suggestions greatly appriciated. </P>

It currently has an EOD automatic, but I would like to switch to a tremec 3550, does anyone know if I will need to change the chip for the motor as well with this swap?</P><edited><editID>topless95gt</editID><editDate>37807.7015740741</editDate></edited>

You are better off going to a junkyard and buying the stuff yourself, a kit would be way more expensive. Its not that involved, I did mine in 1 day and it wasnt that bad. The clutch pedal is the worst because there uis very little room to use the ratchet.

I converted a 94 auto to 5spd. i picked the tranny up off of ebay for 450 including the bellhousing. cheap enough. i called mustang parts spectalites and ordered my flywheel, pedals, wiring harness, and shifter boot. then i called D&amp;D performance (Don Walsh jr.) and ordered my clutch, cable and quadrant, pro 50 shifterand clutch fork. the computer will have to be changed also. ebay or mustang parts specalities should help you with that area. mine come from a ford dealership (cousin is the head master mechanic). i would not hurt to change the gears also from 3.27 to 3.73

Buzzstang do you know roughly how much total you spent to do the conversion, I have a working budget of 2k to do the swap and for that cost I can have the EOD totally rebuilt with kevlar and other goodies, I would prefer the 5 speed but I do have other bills to pay

$2000shouldget what you need. Call D&amp;D Performance at (248)735-6220 for the new parts you need and then call Mustang Parts Specialties at(770)867-2644 for the rest.

a suggestion is also you could make your automatic a slap stick, but I'd rather go with stick. . .but if you wanted a cheaper alternative than getting a new transmission.</P>
