Ok, since I got no response in the detailing section, I'll give it a shot in here.

What's a good chemical that I can spray down the engine bay w/ including the aluminum/chrome parts and not have to worry about hurting the finish and leave a residue?

I'm a big fan of Simple Green.

 

I used that gunk too, works pretty good. These this stuff called s1000 or s2000, its cleaner for harleys, and it shines up everything really good. Might wanna read up on it to see if it'll harm things tho. I've never used it on an engine.

 

I've had a few ppl say that on other boards. Doesn't it leave a residue and have you used it on chrome and aluminum?
