Default FAST ENGINE EMERGENCY ADVICE NEEDED

well if being stiffed for a gasket set on ebay for my engine build ,weather fluctuations and parts laying around was not enough,

my buddy pulls up in his 87 camaro to see me cause his rod is knocking for low oil.
2. the car overheated due to his fan going out on the way up here.

no big deal, ill smack some rod bearings in right !, so we took off the oil pan, starter and tranny lines and went and got rod bearings!

Came back to instal/ the dam crank will not budge! starter will not move it nor will a 3inch iron pipe on a 3/4 inch breaker bar and socket!

Dam cooling fan made the car overheat and im assuming when we left and it cooled down, the pistons melted to the cylinder walls!

he works part time and when i explained the situtaion he sobbed and almost cried , dam what a nice month!

I CANT REMOVE THE ENGINE BECAUSE IT IS SEIZED AND THE FLYWHEEL BOLTS CANT BE ACCESSED DO I JUST REMOVE THE ENGINE WITH CONVERTER ON IT? ETC

sad story 4 him, I told him he can keep it on my property for as long as he wants to till he gets the money, I also told him id put in a 350 in it for him for, and scrap that 305 crap, a new propane torch, some deer meat, some rabbit, and a case of beers.

Now he has a 305HO computer controlled carb 4bbl rochester, will a 350 be a direct bolt on/swap? im not a gm guy

I helped do a 350 swap in my Friends Camaro w/ a 305... It was pretty straight foward from what I remember. I actually just watched alot and it was about 3 years ago so I dont remember too good lol But I think its pretty much bolt it up and go.

The 350 should just be a direct bolt in of the 305, the chevy small blocks from 265-350 are almost completley interchangeable block wise, they're all about the same size. Go to advanced auto and order a 350 stock crate, its only like $2,000 and thats cheaper than a stock rebuild. Then slap a cam in it and the heads are already better than any SBF anyways, and your good to go.

ANY chevy V8 will be a direct bolt in, including the Big Blocks, GM used the small bellhousing pattern on all the V8's, you may have to customize some of the wiring to hook up acc. But everything will bolt right in. As for pulling it out, you'd probably be better pulling motor and trans together, as if you try to pull the convertor with the motor you could possibll do damage the the trans while its bouncing around ect... on the input shaft. Plus clearance will be very tight between core support and firewall this the convertor attached.

his engine is very easy to remove, I wish i had it like him lol, a few lines, hoses, and connectors, two motor mount bolts, 4 header bolts, 4 flywheel bolts, 4 trans bolts, two starter bolts.

got the hard part over, the exhaust manifolds lol and exhaust system, yeah yall know GM'S ARE A MESS WITH PLUMBING AND LEAK CONCERNS,[:'(] it looks like took a oil bath.

NEAREST MOTOR 3.5 HOURS DRIVE TO, 3.5 HOURS DRIVE FROM , DAM, but hey for $75 or $100 i might jump and do it.
