ORIGINAL: PJB

So you wire the power wire from the terminal on the alternator to the starter solenoid with a fuse in between?Im confused as to where the power wire comes from and goes.

I just bought a 130 amp alternator on ebay and Im waiting for it to get here.
That is correct.
But you still use the factory feed wire as well for some reason

What do you mean by feed wire? The little wire on the separate plug that I need to cut away from the original harness?

So theres two power wires at the positive terminal of the alternator? One for the power and one to the starter relay (new wire)?

I havent really looked at the alternator on my car and Im a little confused.

I think Ive got it now. The picture makes it more confusing because it shows 2 different color wires.

So theres two wires on the positive terminal of the alternator and one gets reused (feed wire) and the other gets replaced and wired to the starter relay with a fuse in between. Right?

I suck at electrical stuff.

Ok, real quick! You cut off the large connector w/ the 2 10 gauge and the 1 16 gauge wires.
The 2 heavy wires you strip and put terminals on, those now go to the stud on the back of the new 3g unit.
The smaller wire gets the new single terminal plug
The regulator plug is reused in it's entirety w/o being altered.
Now the new 8 gauge wire comes from either the battery or the starter soleniod, w/ a fused link like I posted above, and goes on the stud on the back of the alt aloge w/ the 2 10 gauge wires that were cut and reused from the original plug.

Have ya got it now. It's very simple, trust me.

Then scroll down for the other stuff. I mounted it by the battery, If the weather is good tomorrow, I'll uncover the car and take some pics!
