Default AOD Problems

my AOD vibrates going from stand still. feels like it is slipping or something.

i know nothing about automatic trans----esp AOD.

any suggestions?

trans was rebuilt about 1 year ago. fluid does not smelled burnt and is still red/pink with plenty of fluid. i have the lokar cable at carb and it appears to be adjusted correct per the Lokar folks.

If the shift points and feel seems OK, the TV linkage is probably close to where you want it.
When my clutches wore thin and started the slipping vibration it was third gear where I felt it.

What type of fluid are you using. Might want to try Mercon V, see if that helps.

Very sharp ride!

i just had this "piece" built last October--drove it less than 5000 miles!!

Fluid---dont know for sure, but i did add some "slick 50" trans fluid additive. that really seemed to help at the time.

thanks for your reply

The tranny should last well over 5000 miles.
I never used the Lokar cable. I fabricated my own linkage because I wanted to be sure the geometry was correct for my carb / TV lever.
Heard things about Lokar and the other brand that sounded iffy.
Got any pictures of you linkage?

Nice advice... [:'(]

Anyhow, I'm no expert in trannys but I'd start with dropping the pan and changing the filter and refilling with some fresh fluid, to completely flush and fill the fluid you'll need to take it to a dealer or tranny shop for $100 they can flush all 13 qts with teh tranny still in the car... sorry to hear, best of luck

By the way your car is very very nice!
