There are a lot of different kits out there. But if you want the best bang for the buck, then piece together your own kit (gt-40 hears from old Explorers, etc.)

A track heat will outflow a GT-40 though. Also, you will gain the most power if you piece together your own kit BUT most likely it will be more expensive if you buy everyting all new... plus the HP numbes will not be that much more... maybe 20?

Also, I thought that the TF kit was like $2,200? But dont forget about supporting mods. TB, MAF, injectors, fuel pump, afpr, etc.

i hear gt40 heads are weird.. do i have to use a gt40 intake?
i have hedman equal shortys.. do i need new headers?
what kind of hp gains should i expect with a set of gt40 heads, intake, headers, and the supporting mods and cam

a good bang for the buck head is victor juniors. nice big head that you can grow into. may lose velocity to start out but you can grow into them, especially ported. you could get some ported vic jrs. for less than afrs and they'll outflow the out of the box afrs. if you really want to go very top end get afrs

do you think my hedman headers would work for a gt40 head? also what intake would i have to have?

If your gonna go the gt40 route, id get the gt40P's, they outflow the 40's, but you have to get diff. headers with them because of the sparkplug angle, they almost go strait in.

so thats why you need different headers..
i never knew..
what about intake? will it bolt up to any aftermarket intake? edelbrock? tf?

what headers are you running?
