Hello all,
As you can tell from my handle I'm an S197 GT owner(actually I now have an '06). I wanted input on which year would be your choice for a daily driver(want to keep the '06s mileage down-waaaay down). I basically grew up in the 80's(first driver's license in 1981) and I'm very aware and an admirer of the 5.0L Fox....keep in mind I mean a daily driver(no Cobras or other rare Foxes).
I've never owned a Fox 5.0L and have only driven an '83 GT(very slow in stock form compared to today's late model 'Stangs '87 & up)
Just curious as to want actual owners of these fine machines would view as the "perfect" daily car. Thank you all in advance.

 

1992 would probably be the most desireable. If you're tall like me, then an '89 would be better because of tilt. But '89-'92 are probably the best years.

 

get an 89, first year for mass air so bolt-ons are not as problematic tune-wise if you do lightly mod it.

 

Your "handle"? This ain't no cb radio!! LOL. Sorry, couldn't resist. As for the cars, I like the 90-93 versions myself. Have 2 of them. A 90 vert and a 92 Notch.

Ummm...is that once again okay to say? Last time I spent a lot of time around truckers (dad escorted oversized loads when I was a kid) that was not something you said, lol
