I have been doing alot of research on this topic as I was going back and forth between a 306 and a 331, but since I am supercharging I am going with the 306

2 choices...

Trick Flow Top end kit comes with:

Trick Flow’s Twisted Wedge cylinder heads (TFS-51400004), the kits include a specially matched hydraulic roller cam (TFS-51402000), roller rockers (TFS-51400510), gasket kit (TFS-51400904), timing chain, pushrods (TFS-21406700), and short valve covers. Lifters not included.

or for even more power...go with the AFR 185cc heads, Holley Systemax Intake, a Stage 2 Trick Flow Cam, or a Comp Cam Stroker Cam even better..roller rockers etc...

Whichever way you go you are going to need a bigger Throttle Body, Injectors..Mass Air possibly a fuel pump..new tune, better exhaust..etc etc....

i would go with the 331, you could go with a trickflow kit, or piece it together. Piecing it together will cost a little more, but you get to customize your setup to what you like. Get some good heads, and possibly a custom grind cam. some good intakes, i like the track heat but there are tons out there, roller rockers ect..... Mainly just figure out what you want to do with the motor(NA, nitrous, FA) and go from there
