Cobra intake
I just got a 95 cobra intake off ebay for my 95 GT and i was wondering if anyone new about how much HP i will be gaining? All i have right now is a CAI, Off Road H-pipe, and flowmasters. Does anyone know about what i should expect from this swap.

Without upgrading the heads, you're not going to get much gain. Maybe 8-10 hp. However, if you upgrade your heads to something like Edelbrock, GT-40, AFR, etc, you'll get a lot more out of it. Save your pennies and get a set of aftermarket heads to install at the same time and you're good to go.

yea i wouldnt be surprised if you only got around 10 rwhp from it w/out heads. Sounds like a pretty good deal man. Is it the original cobra intake or the new ones made in china? Anyways itll make a BIG difference if you get some heads as stated b4 me. I have a set of edelbrock performer intakes i got shiped to me for 200, but i think thats a rare deal to find. I am waiting for some performer heads to match it with, but sometimes i think about ripping it apart just to slap on the intake. Unfortunately that would make 2x the work when i finally get the heads...
I'd definatly wait to do heads too. Get yourself some GT40's or some GT40P's, you can get either of them cheap on ebay. Get some new lifters/pushrods, and some roller rockers and you'll be set....You'll see a pretty large gain from the 2, even better with a cam too.
If i were to do a change the head out also, what would be the easiest way? just to pull them off in the car or pull the whole motor out and do it on a engine stand? I also have a leak around my oil pan, if i pulled the motor i could change that while its out, that would sure save me a lot of work. I guess what im asking would it be worth to pull the motor or just do the head swap in the car?
I would just leave it in there to be totally honest, you can get to your oil pan also without taking the motor out. Im not exactally sure of the steps but basically you just need to jack up the motor a little bit and you should be able to gain some clearance to the oil pan. I would just leave the motor in and save yourself a whole ****load of extra work.
Ya thats what i was hoping. I really dont want to have to mark EVERY wire and vac. line it that car just to change out my heads. does anyone know of anyone that has a set of good heads for sale?
