Default Rear control arms

How hard is it to install aftermarket rear control arms in my '92?
I wanted to do it on my friend's lift but he's not around today and Im thinking I might want to try changing them today in my driveway.

Is that even possible?
Whats involved in changing them?
Ive got boxed non adjustable aftermarket control arms.

Not hard at all. JUst jack the car up on jack stands, place a jack under the rear end to releive the pressure swap them out one at a time. I did mine in about 1 hr by myself but it would be easier with a extra hand!

I just jacked the car up and realized that my exhaust needs to come down to get to the front bolt.
My friend is letting me use his garage and lift to do it so Im going up there now.[sm=smiley20.gif]

good luck and remember to torque the control arm bolts while the car is on the wheels.....or while the suspension is compressed (i.e. using jack stands to hold it up)

I got them in. It took me about 5 hours even though I had it on a lift and had a transmission jack and a tall screw jack and all the tools I needed to do it.

I didnt even think of torquing the bolts (just read the last post for the first time) but my friend didnt have a torque wrench anyway. Ive got one and can do that at home. I used an impact gun and cranked them tight.

Is it just the ones I got or did anybody else have to mount the sway bar differently? Before it was on the inside of the control arms but not its on the outside. Thats the only way it would fit on the new control arms.

I didnt really notice a big difference driving the car home. Hopefully it will help at the track next year though.
