Default carb to EFI conversion

what am i looking at to convert my carb set up to f/i?

i've seen the "kits" in jegs/summit and others. maybe it is worth it, but 2500 to 3000 seems pretty steep. is there an easier way [cheaper?]

anyone taken this project on?

will be going into my '69 stang. btw---motor is 351w stroked to 408.

thanks for your help!

not sure if that is "too much" but i know it should be quite a bit. theres is such an insane amount of wiring on EFI motors it is ridiculous. there are wires crammed into almost every little cavity and behind every panel on even my 88. that will be quite a project to make it efi, but im guessing with a harness that expensive it would be pretty inclusive and make the job easier. sorry i cant be much help, but i wanted to wish you luck

its not that bad of a swap. i just did this to an 84 t-bird and its, great better fuel milage car starts right up after sitting for a few weeks just an all out better response. and it wasnt any were near that price .i got my wire harness from an 87 mustang at a local u-pull-it yard for $40 as well as the upper and lower intakes about $24.99 each i think i might have $200. invested in my swap. i have tons of web sites you can go to for help with install. fordfuelinjection. com is one of the top of my head its the most informative one .ill get the rest if you need them let me know.do your research if its something you really want to do do it

I think it's great that you are wanting to convert to efi.

The easiest way I can think of is to find a donor car with a MAF computer, and pull everything from that one car.

This way you won't have any issues with mismatching a harness from year X, and a computer from year Y.

Any efi car will be a good source for the parts you need. Stay away from the trucks as they use batch fire injector systems.

That is a sweet lookin ride...
Let us know how it comes out.
