Default Engine missing. Help!

There was a short in my stereo that was causing my battery to drain totally down to nothing. So i got a new battery, ripped out the stereo, and now my car is missing a little bit, and the tach is jumpy as hell.
Any ideas?

maybe your battery ground cable isn't in very good shape. sounds like maybe a small break in the wire was disturbed during battery replacement?

if you changed the battery, and now the tach is running funny like that, your ignition isn't the problem. you have a bad ground somewhere. all your computers are grounded to the battery, so if i was you, i'd save your money and check that ground wire.
