Default Headers/Spark Plug Wires combo

When i first bought my car the #4 spark plug cable boot was toasted and cracked because it was really close to the header. it was a set of Ford Racing 9mm wires. I then bought a set of Accel 8mm wires and the contact with the header is even worse and i start misfiring unless i wrap it up with electrical tape.

i really like the look of the taylor steel braided wires but i dont want to risk them getting messed up so im looking to replace my aftermarket headers at the same time (i cant tell what brand they are)

for those of you with these taylor wires, what headers are you using? any problems? thanks

im using taylor 10.4mm with bbk equal length shorties. its not a problem, i have little boot things that go over the spark plug boot and the bottom several inches of wire. theyre made of a cloth type material. the only problem is they are such a big wire i need to get some new wire seperators/clips to run them instead of having them lay everywhere.

just wire seperators to keep them off the headers

thats good i was hoping i could get BBk's

and its not the wire thats on the header, its the actual boot that is pressing against it, i cant pull it much, clips would do little :/

ya you probably dont have much of a choice then with those headers. what boot angle do you have for your taylors?

i dont have taylors right now. i have accel wires with no boot angle, they are straight all the way until the distributer (the ones that connect to the cap are 90* )

nah, the boot angle is the angle that the boot goes in relation to the plug wire. this is measured on the spark plug side(mine are 135).

well the spark plugs stick out of the head something like 45* but the wires themselves are straight and so is the boot
