I have an 89 GT what is factory painted a very very light Grey color, appears white in many lights. I was looking at repainting it and I have had a few people tell me that this color was very rare and sought after. Anyone else ever heard of this or know why this is?

here is what mustangt.org says: Exterior paint combinations included Black, Dark Grey Metallic, Light Grey, Bright Red, Cabernet Red, Medium Shadow Blue Metallic, Bright Regatta Blue Metallic, Deep Shadow Blue Metallic and Oxford White.
What you describes seems like light grey, i dont know about the rarity but i do know it was a color option!( I personally have never seen one in that color)

look at the door tag to make sure it's original, ext color will have 1k

yup it's rare cuz it's kinda ugly, but i like it, i had an '89 notch painted that color and got lots of remarks , here are the build numbers

Now I am going to have to take a look becasue it looks similar to those pics but in the number list for GT Vert it said N/A but thats what mine is, so I will go take a look and get some pics too. Thanks for everyones help feel free to post any more opinions.

it doesn't lie

i had a guy telling me my current car was NOT calypso green cuz his was more green and thats what his was. he had a '87 gt, i told him kick the a$$ of the guy who repainted it cuz he mixed it wrong.....calypso wasn't available til '91

anyways, just look at the door tag, there was a darker grey too, i've seen gt's that color.
