I have a 94 5.0 with a stock block cam and heads. I am looking to upgrade heads/ cam i found a set for sale. it comes with an E303 cam is the E303 better for autos or 5 speeds? i have an auto. alsoit has 1.6 svo roller rockers will they work with my stock bottom end?
I have an edelbrock upper and lower (performer rpm II) I believe these ones are just performer's. this set up should be ok right?

basically i am asking if Edelbrock heads and E303 CAM, with complete w/ a set of SVO 1.6 roller rockers will work with my stock bottom end , and an automatic transmission. I am looking at spending 1000$ shipped to my door what you guys think???

 

i'm pretty sure they will work with your stock bottom end. the rockers are a factory ratio. the valves on the performer heads are 1.90 intake and 1.60 exhaust. i'm pretty sure they will work fine with your stock bottom end. you might want to look into a aftermarket valve body and a aftermarket converter too to make the most gain out of the new heads and cam... and the cam is deffanitly an improvement over stock.. but there are much better cams out there then the e-303 cam. jmo though.

 

i have a stall converter already i just know the e303 and the b303 one is better for auto's and one is better for 5 speeds. i forget ehich 1 is which.. you think 1000$ is cool for that setup?

 

it seems about right. i think the e-303 cam is better for a 5spd's if i remember correctly.. but with a aftermarket stall converter you might be ok.

 

well the setup is used, should i spend a lil extra and get all new performer rpm II's and better cam? how much will a whole setup cost with the rpm II's and 1.6 roller rockers and a great cam? t

 

probably anywhere from 1600-1800 bucks.. not including any new gaskets .. or new head bolts.. well.. the head bolts are just in my opinion. i would throw some arp head bolts on it too.

 

well i have the edelbrock rpm2 upperlower with edelbrock performer heads with 2.02 ,and a t/f stage 2 cam i hade to notch my pistons but iam almost posotive that with the 1.90 you should be fine

 

i forgot that the performer heads came with either a 1.90 intake or a 2.02. you might want to find out what size intake valve it has.

 

anyone else know anything else about the cam?
