what engine?
I have talked my friend in to selling me his 87 fox. The only throw back is I need a motor and trans. I have a couple of ideas 347 stroker or a 351w. Im not sure what I would get the most hp out of, for the cheapest. I am shooting for around 400whp. i dont want to spent more that 7500-8000 for my engine and transmission. My grandpa told me that going with a carburetor motor would be the cheapest way. Say if I want to put a turbo on it later on down the road... it would be better to go with EFI, right?
If choosing between a 347 stroker and a 351 Windsor...just remember, there is no replacement for displacement.
But anyway... the 302 / 347 will hold 400 HP with no problems. Im putting 430 RWHP down on a 302 right now. But if you want to add more HP down the road (and we always do) why not go with the 351? You can still find them for a decent price.
As far as EFI vs. Carb... you car go either route. Personally I prefer FI, but others prefer carb. You can get superchargers / turbochargers for carbs as well so that's not a problem.
If it was my choice, I'd get a 351W, EFI, and slap a supercharger on it down the road. But there's nothing wrong with any of the other options you have.
