Default idle problem...

i have a 94 gt (5.0 ..5 speed).....i pulled the intake and the head on the pass side......now with it all back togather ihr car idles at 1500 anytime the car is moving....i come to a stop and the idle comes back to 900.....with the car sitting the idle is fine...i can rev it up and it does fine but when driving it will not come back till the car stops.....i guess the question is ...is there a line that goes to the tranny that i may have hook up wrong??

Default RE: idle problem...

This is somewhat normal. The pcm uses the vss signal (two wire plug on the sending unit/speedo cable end at the trans) for dashpot. Dashpot is a controled return to idle. It also uses one of your clutch switches, although I have found that there is not much of a dashpot with only the clutch depressed. You definately don't have a vac leak or anything otherwise it would idle high all the time. You really may not have anything wrong, its supposed to hold the rpms a bit; 1500 just seems a little bit too much.......
