When I bought my "90 gt vert It had a vaccum leak in the hose that goes from the upper manifold to the cannister on the pass side. when I fixed the leak, the car wouldn't idle and would stall. it only idles when I unplug the hose have a big vaccum leak. Anyone know whats going on?

yah it sounds like either the canister is clogged or the line that goes out of it is kinked or something. vac lines are touchy, my car stalls if i plug the brake booster line back on too quickly.

It could be saturated w/ fuel and pulling extra from there. Seen mainly on carbed cars though. Maybe a bad canister purge control solenoid.

Yeah and it should have an electrical connection on it.

Thanks. I guess I'll have to look into that, I'm totally at a loss. The car feels like it should have more power, is it losing power with this vaccum leak?

it wont lose power from a vaccum leak since under acceleration their isn't any manifold vaccum, i would say check your fuel pressure too...put a guage on the schrader valve on your fuel rail and see what the pressure is, if its between 35 and 40 psi pinch off the return line and see what it does, if it shoots up then its bad and needs replaced. it would cause your engine to run really rich if its bad, but the vaccum leak would fix this since more air is getting into the engine. If your purge control solenoid was bad then your MIL light would be on.

btw a leaking injector could cause your engine to run really rich, which would also cause it to stall. A plugged air filter would also cause this too, which maybe why you feel like your low on power.
