Default h-pipe x-pipe

do you actually really need one of those? or does it have something to do with back pressure. and if you do would it be better to get one custom made or order one online?

You don't NEED any modifications on your car. but it allows your car to exhaul easier, therefor freeing up horsepower.

its only like 130 bucks to buy one that doesn't have cats, usually a few hundred for one with cats, so i wouldnt get one custom made. i like the sound the x pipes make but i think most people run h pipes on mustangs

Yes, you do need one it balances the exhaust pressure and flow coming from each cylinder bank(passengers side is cyl. 1-2-3-4, drivers is 5-6-7-8). i'm not sure exactly how this works but your engine wont run as well or as efficiently without one

sorry for butting in on this topic does any one know what an exhaust shop will charge to install cats on a off road x/h pipe because I cannot find a pipe where i live for like under 400 if it is catted. I am just looking for a ballpark figure.

The problem is that cats are very expensive. The cheapest pair you could get would probly run around 150$, and they wouldnt be very good ones. Then at least a hundred for a shop to weld them in. You would end up spending more than just buying a catted pipe. Go on ebay, UPR makes a catted x pipe for 285$.

jegs carries a high flow h-pipe with cats for 300, really good quality, they also carry the offroad h-pipe for about 130
