a few misc engine questions

Hey... My getting done redoing my 91 5.0 and need a few things. The torque pattern for the heads... I have some water pump bolts but aren't sure which bolt goes where If anyone has a pic or something that could help me out. thanks. I torqued a oilpan bolt down too hard and broke it off in the block What do I do. Thanks

RE: a few misc engine questions

Well i would start by getting a chilton or haynes manual, they are your best friends when building an engine. That oil pan bolt will have to be fixed or you will leak oil. I would suggets taking the pan off and either drilling and ez out/tapping, or vise grips depending on how much bolt is sticking out

Alright ill pick up a chilton's magazine and the bolt is down inside the block so i guess I'll have to drill it out.. Thanks

RE: a few misc engine questions

haynes manuals for fox mustangs suck, i've never used a chiltons though

-I realize how crude this is but i dont have a scanner otherwise i would email the actual book pages
-torque in two steps 1) 56-65 ft./lbs 2) 65-72 ft./lbs (torque specs may be different for aluminum heads)

intake
manifold
9 5 1 3 7
10 6 2 4 8
headers

ten bolts on each head, 1 and 2 are the middle bolts

Drill it out, and retap it. Just take your time. I broke a pan bolt off in a brand new dart block. I bought a stud kit after that.
