Default Drag Springs

In the Jegs catalogue it lists Moroso Drag springs, but says in bold print they are "NOT FOR STREET APPLICATIONS!!!" Is there a reason for this, or is it just illegal like off road H pipes and stuff?

If you cut them then what would be the purpose of having them?

they have way more stored energy than you need. when my car was full weight and i had 1/2 a coil cut off. all the coils were touching each other. than i pulled the ps,ac and battery and it looked like a 4x4. now it has 2 full coils cut out. its a little too low but will be fine if i ever put alum heads on.

compressed

un-compressed

My 2640# (without driver)'84 GT hatch really looked like a joke when I first put them in. Cut-off 2 full coil and I think it's STILL too high.
Yep, they are sort of a bummer to install/de-install.
Use an air powered abrasive cutter to cut them off...
Ok for street use, I really don't think so. Moroso gets a LOT of $$$ for them.
Maybe find a set of 4 cylinder springs at the junker yard, may really work better and be lots less $$$........

the moroso springs (for the rear) say not for street use because they arent the same. the right one is shorter and very stiff and the passenger side spring is longer but softer. its designed to dig the right rear wheel in harder on launch.

for front springs i would just get some 4 banger front springs from the junk yard and throw them in. stock rear springs are pretty good
