Need help!!! removing balancer!
I've got everything out except the balancer, water pump/front cover, timing chain and gears, and cam. Well I started working on it tonight, I removed the crank pulley and proceeded to remove the crank bolt (the one that helps hold the balancer on) and my impact wrench doesn't have enough gear reduction to get that bolt loose! I'll have to go get my Snap-On one from work and try it again tomorrow. To add to the frustration, I opened my gasket kit this morning to look and make sure everything was in there and some retard forgot to throw both of the head gaskets in the box! So it's going to be probably mid next week until I get that in. Sorry I just needed to vent. Everything was going very smoothly until today. Oh well, **** happens I guess.

If he could keep the motor from spinning that would work

get a small asian child to crawl into the motor and hold it for you. everyone knows theyre the ones that build japanese cars, might as well use them for this. and all you have to pay them is some rice

Good call. I had to do that when i was installing my gears. It was a PITA crushing the crush sleeve. Also try this: put a breaker bar on there, spin the motor clockwise, the pop it back the other way, thats how i broke mine loose.

Use your breaker bar, put it on the bolt and put the other end on the floor on the driverside. Undo the coil(so it wont fire up) and bump the starter, just bump it easy. Will work great, you will be suprised.

Man this is so lame looking but maybe you can get the idea. By doing this you can let the bar that is between the bolts hit underneath the body on either side then you can use a ratchet with a breaker bar.
