Default H pipe

Im building a strictly track car, and Im thinking of what to do with the exhaust. Im planning on equal legth headers into 3" pipes, through dynomax muffler, and out at 45s in front of the tires.

I dont want to spend the money on an H pipe, and I was wondering if it would sound like ****. Or if whoever welds together my exhaust, can rig one up for me?

Why run mufflers if its a strictly drag car?

Having the cross over, if it's a X or H, really makes it sound nice. I wouldn't worry about the 45s in front of the tire just turn them down after the muffler. If it is going to be track only and you don't already them I would go with long tube headers. You aren't going to be worried about low end torque because you are going to be in the upper rpm range most all the time anyway.

All the tracks that are near me require you to run some sort of muffler if you are in the street or foot brake class 88bluegt.

Run LT's (if you have the rwhp to need them) into mufflers (gutted and rewelded) and dump it right on the pavement....f' them![8D]

yeah dont even mess with the 45's in front of the tires, most likely your gona run sub frame conectors, and that would leave the exhaust very close to the ground. Just dump it

Yea, I need to have mufflers for my class.

I was doing the 45s somewhat for looks. Its strictly a track car...BUT Im still trying to keep it looking good. Im probably going to put tips on the exhaust (not ricey tips) and I am going to paint the car, and decal it...Im not building a hardcore racing machine, just a fun rig to race, but I really want to keep looks in mind as well.

We have 45s in front of the tires on our dirt track car, and that thing leans to the sides a lot more than this thing because it corners, and they fir OK, so I figured it would be OK.

Im not dead set on doing 45s also, so if its not gonna fit, Im not too worried about it.

X2 on long tubes for a track only car...no reason not to get them. Go w/ a prochamber or have an exhaust shop fab up something for you.
