Default winter plans please help

im putting my car away for the winter and i am going to be driving a bronco. i will be saving a lot of money a month on insurance and also i am going to be saving some more cash for a special treat. my engine has 99, 607 miles on it right now and although i would like to supercharge it i feel as though it doesnt have enough life left in it to really enjoy it for a long time, my other option is to get another engine not anything crazy but something that would produce some nice power any ideas?

Rebuild with a 347 stroker kit and a good set of heads. Use forged internals so you can add a blower, or nitrous later and not worry about your bottom end. The stroker kit and heads will give you a very good starting point for a strong motor later when cash allows.

you should be able to go with a supercharger as is as long as you don't exceed 6 psi boost pressure. 5.0's are tougher than most people give them credit for stock, but many a stock one is running low boost with the stock bottom end and plenty of miles on it.

I would say supercharge it! My buddy steve bought an 88' GT with 170,000 miles and put a Powerdyne on it boosting 8psi, and ran that engine all the way up to 280,000 miles with the stock bottom end. If your car has been well maintained it can definately handle a charger after a mear 90,000 miles. btw it ran 13.00 in the 1/4, and the engine had never left the mounts.
