Well, I was driving down the road, shifted from 1st, 2nd, into 3rd and BAM Tranny blew.. Me and my dad pushed it 2 miles back to our house.

I'm not quite sure what I'm going to do.. T-5's are only rated for 250+ and I'm around 350.

The cheapest tranny I saw was $1100 for a brand new T-5...

But Not really sure what I'm going to do now, plus the fact my oil pressure is dropping down to 25 after 1 hour of driving...

Let me ask you guys a question, What's normal oil pressure supposed to stay at? And if you strip the motor, replace the bearings, don't you have to turn the crank also, otherwise all that was done is pointless?

I think I got screwed once again with my car.
Sorry about the tranny.........I would get a TKO.........or a "World Class" T-5.

Check your oil sending unit plug. It is the wire that is connected to your oil pan on the driver side. I cannot remember the technical name....(too much beer). Make sure that it is secure and connected correctly. I have read the the oil guage on the 5.0 is not very accurate.

If you are going to strip the motor down, replace the bearings and turn the crank............better safe then sorry.

Remember how old your car is and remember the faithful years of beating it has taken............
Hey SSkiller, did you just tell him to check his oil level sender because his oil pressure is low?

The t-5 is not junk if it has the proper internals for what he has. The t-5 is a great trans but it depends on what its behind, driveline, tire and weight. The problem with people is that they are quick to mod the engine and everything else and dont realize the the stock t-5 is not a racing trans. The only t-5 that is set up for that is the g-force or the z series. Not to mention anything other than the 2.92 first is garbage.

For everyday driving with slight to mid mods, like 80% of people on this forum, is a good trans. Its for giving and light wieght.
Z code t5s are junk. Find a 93 Cobra & you have a z code t5. They'll only take a little more than a "WC" t5.
