Default coil spring question

ok, i hear how the bullitt springs will make your car corner better and the mach 1's are more for
1/4 mile racing ?
well i have both sets setting in the floor and both have the same size coil windings and the same free heights, another thing bullitts are suppose to set lower , so how does this all happen ?
can't see it setting lower with the same free lenghts ? same size coil windings ?
anyone know how or why this happens ?
not sure which set i want to use in my 82 gt ?
i have tried several different brands of aftermarket coil springs including coil over and now i have decided to go back to stock as i'm tired of nothing riding worth a crap !
i didn't live on smooth city streets , and no its not the shocks as i have red koni's
thanks

Bobby; measure the diameter of the wire, that's where the diff will be.
IMHE, be prepared to cut them with an ABRASIVE cutoff wheel, nothing else. Most of the aftermarkey springs are way to long and need to be cut to get ride where you want it.....

yes i have done that and so and can't find any differences ?
that is why i wondered why they claim to be different ?
i will see how my 93 looks once i get the engine and front end back on for weight
might have to trim them some, the rears look great so far, this car had cut eibach's on it and
it had no travel to speak of and totally worn out everything and now all is new so i will see
what happens next, if i like em i'm going to install one of the sets on my 82 gt later
thanks

What a minute.
If you have the engine out of the car and the front end (sheet-metal?) off you really can't judge ride hieght.....

was talking about the rear so far, yeah the front end is so jacked up it isn't hardly even funny
hope to see the engine in the bay in a couple days , this car was on the ground and now its nice
to see a lil clearance, it was almost undriveable lowered and with worn out shocks and no sway
bars and think someone was racing this thing is scary................., i drove it home and never went over 45 mph trying to keep it on the road , any bump it would bottom out hard
