I was just on Anderson Ford Motorsports website and happend to click on the customer cars page.

Here are 3 out of the 50 cars on there.

1. 308ci, Trickflow Twisted Wedge Stage ll Ported Heads, Anderson N-111 Cam, Ported Holley Systemax Intake, 75mm TB, 1 3/4 Headers, 398 RWHP @6500 RPMs and runs 10.7's

2. 306ci, Trickflow Twisted Wedge Stage ll Ported Heads, Anderson N-91 Cam, Edelbrock Victor 5.0 Intake, 90mm TB, 1 3/4" Headers
396 RWHP @6600 RPMs and runs 10.9's

3. 306ci, Trickflow Twisted Wedge Hand Ported Heads, Lunati Cam (Same one I have) Edelbrock Victor 5.0 Intake, 75mm TB, 1 5/8"-1 3/4" Step-headers, 401 RWHP @6500 RPMs and runs 10.9's

These 3 people had there cars tuned at Anderson Motorsports. Is it the way anderson tunes these car to make them have so much power?

I mean I have baically the same set-up as the 3rd guy listed.
306 with 11.0.1 Comp
AFR 185 Heads which are about the same as hand ported TF's
The same Lunati cam (242/252 @50 & 560/576 Lift)
Edelbrock Victor 5.0 Intake
75mm TB

I got my car tuned at Xtreme Performance in Autin, Tx and all I got was 327 RWHP @6550 RPMs

 

If you were running AFR165cc heads, you would have made more power, your velocity has probably suffered due to the larger heads. Your motor would greatly benefit from a shot of nitrous!

I would have gone with a smaller cam as well

 

But yes... definatly it takes a good tune inorder to get the full potential out of your engine... whether you do it yourself or have it done...

 

A tune isn't going to get you 20% more power N/A. I call BS on their combos/numbers. And I don't believe you'll gain power with an AFR 165.

 

I think it's quite possible, from what i understand 185s are usually better for 331s or 347s, unless the 302 is boosted.

whats wrong with the cam i ran the the same cam in my old motor.

 

I've heard nothing but good things coming out of Andersons so there must be truth to it!!!

 

I just got the latest issue of 5.0 & SF, has a great article ("Fox Buildup, Stage 2, Reach For the Sky") Rick Anderson using Trick FLow heads, AFM camshaft, PMS and more. They pushed out 321/343. Thats pretty impressive!!!!!

 

they all use the famous p.m.s sys. famous power pipe...there port work is little more extreme than they claim also...i have personally been there last summer...he's one cocky *** too
