i just read in another topic that my 88 gt has speed density, and thats a bad thing. what is it and whats the good, bad and ugly. im very intrested cause i never heard this term before.

Hey Lucky its not a bad thing just really limited to upgrading and modding. Example hard to find a cam that your computer wil likeand run. But some people swear buy speed denisty .Also you dont have a mass air meter. etc. Lemme look for a link for ya.You do have a good looking GT though .

FOr a couple hundred bucks you can always convert to mass air. Speed density. when tuned right, actually will outperform any mass air car with the same mods (no mass air meter to make a restriction in the intake flow). The difference is that mass air acurately measures air coming into the engine and speed density basically "guesses" airflow based on a number of things - it can be very accurate as long as it isn't "tricked" by cams, etc. (any upgrade that will change the intake vacuum).

Do, in short, be careful when considering cam swaps or changing anything ahead of the intake manifold. Some mods are speed density safe, even some cams etc. You just gotta be careful what you do.

full exhaust, intake,pullies,ac delete and ignition. i had speed density to and it ran great with all those mods but now that i put the 347 in i converted to mass air
