mods help
hey everyone, coming up in the spring i plan on doing some mods. By the end of summer i'm hoping to have nitrous, a supercharger, and drag radials(also any supporting mods needed). My problem is i can't decide what order to do them in. I don't have a whole lot of money, so it will be one thing at a time. I want to start going to the track in the spring when it opens back up (not a huge fan of street racing), so i want to get something that will get me somewhat of a decent time. I was thinking of getting a 100 dry shot of nitrous first, then save up again and get the s/c. Then last get the dragradials, i was also going to put the drag radials on a differnt set of rims. So what i'm asking is for any of your opinions on what order i should do, or other mods i should look into instead. Thanks for any help! also the little bit of mods i do have are in my sig.
thanks tmajikman, i was thinking that to..... this is gonna be a dumb question, but i'm new to cars so i'm gonna ask anyways, what is a maf?, also does my magna flows cat backs count for the exhaust or no, and what size injectors should i look at
you wont really need a hell of alot to get your cobra into the 13's. I ran on street tires and pulled a 14.1 @ 100.5 in my 94 cobra.
Get yourself an offroad mid pipe, whether it be an H or an X is up to you. ~$200 new
Rear lower control arms... I recommend Maximum Motorsports heavy duty control arms. ~$250
Drag radials and wheels... American Racing AR-23's... 15x8 and Mickey Thompson ET Streets 275/50/15. ~$500
Bump your timing to ~15° ~FREE!!!
Shortie headers. Equal or unequal.... your choice ~$250
Gears.... get some 3.73 gears, let a professional shop install them. ~$500 installed
Adjustable fuel pressure regulator... I have a Kirban.. ~$70
Visit a dyno and run your car once you have ALL of the above... you can then adjust your fuel pressure to get an optimal Air/Fuel Ratio. This will give you the best power your car can get without a tune. ~$75
This is the cheapest and most efficient way to get into the 13's. The only thing that is different from My cobra in thsi list if the tires and gears... I ran on a friends set of drag radials, and im still running stock gears and I pulled a 13.8... so I think with everythign I listed, you can make some nice times!

hopefully the struts are adjustable... if they are, just set the fronts to be REAL soft and you should be all set
but yea, just follow the list I posted for you... treat it as your bible and I promise you wont be let down

thanks addermk for all the help...... i think i'm gonna go with what you reccomend.... it sounds pretty good and affortable....... the only question i have is about the pipes and gears. First, where i live we have to have the dumb catalytic converters, with the H or X pipe, can i still have them...... stupid emmisions, i can't get plates if i don't pass.... also, are 3:73 gears decent for highway driving?? i was also thinking about the 3:55's instead.... let me know what you think.... thanks!
you will be fine with 3.73's. Its actually the same ratio I am planning on getting. Your car will sit around 2650 rpms at 80mph in 5th gear.
As far as emissions are concerened... you can either... get the offroad pipes with no cats and keep your stock mid pipe.. however you will have to swap your stock mid-pipe back on for emissions testing....
OR
you can buy a CATTED mid pipe... itll cost a few bucks more... but itll keep you legal.
