I did mine a month or so ago and had no problems accessing the bolts after I had the lower arms out and the drive-shaft disconnected. I replaced the bushings and that job was a royal pain, but getting the control arms out was not bad. If you do drop the rear-end more, you may want to disconnect the rear brake line where it connects to the under-body. Dropping the rear-end that far put a lot of stress on the brake line.

Yeah, I wish I had purchased the tool. I ended up making my own tool out of a C-clamp, a piece of flat steel, and a large socket. It worked but I spent about 2 hours getting the bushings out. Good luck with it.

Awjeez. any helpful hints you can give? i really don't know what is involved. is it difficult because of access? or is it difficult because it's pressed in there?

I had the whole rear end out of the car, so access wasn't a problem. It was difficult because it was pressed in and had been in there for 20 years. If you have the tool you should be OK, just be patient. Once I got them broken free, the rest wasn't too bad, and putting the new ones in was easy.

I may need to reinforce my torque boxes also. Check out this link. It has pics and instructions.

Yeah, I just looked on 50resto also and was surpised they were so much $$$. $175 seems a bit pricey. [:-]
