When i first start my car in the cold mornings, it doesnt start up right away, it'll click a couple times, then start right up, but only when its really cold outside. The battery and alternator are pretty new. Could this be the starter? i think its org starter. Or maybe fuel pump? Any ideas?
it sounds like its the selenoid clicking when i try to start it... So i thought if the selenoid is clicking then that's working and maybe its the starter?
it only happens when its really cold? for example, i live in Mass. right now the mornings are like, 28, but about 40-45 around 2pm. it does this only in the morning?
hard to say.. could be anything in the starting system, more than likely the starter. have someone else hit the key, and have your hand on the starter, if the click happens, have them hold the key in that position for a few seconds. the starter will get hot if its locked up.
