Wheel questions.

RE: Wheel questions.
wow... you guys are so hardcore into your domestics that you know absolutly nothing about imports...
whats DSM... well you got that right... it is diamond star motors... but it has nothing to do with the stealth....
Misubishi has the tri diamond "star" as their logo... therefor anything produced by mitsu is dubbed "diamond star motors" hence DSM
and the 4g63 was a motor.... but more specifically, its the popular hotroded motor found in Eclipses and Talons... I believe it was also in the conquest and starion and a few other vehicles

RE: Wheel questions.
Yes I'm a Dsm guy. But if it makes ya'll feel any better, I'm parting out my fully built 2.3L stroked motor with T-67 turbo, etc. etc. etc. to turn around and buy a Stang....and slap a Procharger and other mods on it. It had plenty of potential but I was having too many problems (even with the new parts) and I'm fed up. Even running totally like crap, it at least ran an 8.3 in the 1/8th but should've done aLOT better.
But on topic, anyone have any idea of the backspacing I'd need to use with these wheels? Wondering where to find the tires for them as well (in the front especially) cause I'm not finding anyone that carries them for 4 inch wide tires. I did some searching on here and seeing that 10 inch wide wheels is the widest I can go without removing the "quads"? Would it depend on if the car is lowered or not though? Cause it is. Looking to put on drag radials as well and have no idea of the tire sizes to use. I never had to worry about these issues with an all-wheel drive car launching at 7k rpm on street tires. It just grabbed and went. Oh well....
All help appreciated. Thanks!
P.S. Wondering if there's anyway to change my s/n. Cause it needs something better like, 8A_Honda

*edit* GOD DAMNIT.... I hate this forum...I tried posting something and it never went up....[:@]
DSM guy... go 15x8 rear with a 5.5" backspacing... run 275/50/15 drag radials... preferable Mickey Thompsons... and run 195/65/15 tires up front on your skinnies.... you may want to go with a 15x5.... but 15x4 will work too

RE: Wheel questions.
Why 15x8 if a 15x10 would fit? Or will it? I wanna go as wide as I possibly can in the rear without having to do a lot of modifications to get it to fit. Also, these won't be the "full time" set of wheels I'll use. I'll use the set that's currently on the car for the street but use the other one'ssometimes as well after my days at the track and when I'm too lazy to swap them out. Also, I don't think these wheels come in a 15x5 size for the front.

RE: Wheel questions.
DSM's are Mitsubishi Eclipse's, Eagle Talon's, and Plymouth Lasers (not the ChryslerLazer that looked like a Daytona).
DSM was a partnership between Mitsubishi and Chrysler. Not all Mitsubishi's are/were DSM's.
