Default electrical issues

so i just got a new bbk 155lph fuel pump installed a week ago, and i went to pick my car up from the mechanics. i got in it and it started up fine, then i drove it 1/8 mile down the road and it just completely died and would not start. so i had some people push me, i popped the clutch and it started fine. before i put the new fuel pump in, it was having problems starting and it would just stall out when i was driving, and not start again for sometimes a whole day. i thought the fuel pump would solve the problem but obviously not. you guys have any idea what is goin on?

sounds heat related. TFI or coil.

when it died out on you, and you tried to start it, Did it crank over at all?

If it wouldnt crank, I would check the starter solenoid, then the starter itself.

If it WAS cranking, but wouldnt start. I would replace the ignition module on the side of the distributor!

Hmmmm, sometimes self diagnosis=wasted$$$$$$. Sucks, since you were having it fixed at a repair shop, you shoulda paid to have it properly diagnosed.

TFI modules are known to be bad out of the box. get one from your local ford dealer and try again. If it still does not solve your problem, you may need to replace the pickup coil in the distributor

more testing is in order.... check for spark at the coil and the plugs... if no spark, either stator or coil

Is it grounded properly. My brother just went through this. His car would crank but wouldn't start. It ended up being his ground wire.
