Default fuel pressure regulator

just put a bbk fuel pressure regulator in my car i was just wondering if it is bad to raise the fuel pressure to much and what would be good fuel pressure.

the stock fuel pressure if you car is stock 39-41psi! If it is getting to much fuel could cause a number of dif problems. poor fuel economy, pre detination, hesitation, and mess up your sensors.

need to have a fuel pressure gauge. you can mount one on the pressure port on the return line

I think he is asking what would be a good pressure to set it to. I think (I don't know) but it would be a good idea to give the guys who might know this one a list of your mods so they have a better understand of how you car is setup

Always start with stock pressure.

Getting the pressure too high will cause fuel metering problems. Up to about 50psi should be ok, anything over that will cause problems for the injectors.

Start with stock, and adjust from there.

Summit carries fuel pressure gauges that mount on the shraeder valve of the factory fuel lines.
This is very handy to have under the hood.

Leave it at stock until you can get it on a dyno.

I believe stock pressure is 38 pounds, and there really isnt much of a need to up the pressure too high unless its needed.

you'll slow down if you go too high. and you probably don't need to.

stock should be 42 psi W/ THE VAC LINE REMOVED

i have seen guys pick up a noticible gain by leaning out to about 35-36 psi (w/ vac on at idle)
