Hey guys...just purchased a gorgeous white '92 hatchback w/ completely re-done black interior. Im so happy, but there are some problems w/ it. Check Engine light is on, but i now have an OBD-1 scanner, so thats not a big issue yet. Also, the Airbag light flickers on and off while driving....what could this be? what kind of scanner do i need to find the problem? thanks

For the airbag light disconnect the battery then check to see if any of the sensor connection are loose. You might have to check the ones under the dash also.

Good luck with your new stang. My check engine light only comes on in the winter (flashes on and off) and never in the summertime. I don't pay mine no mind cause the stang still runs great.

 

that's because your o2 sensor needs cleaned

 

sounds like this new stang of yours has been in an accident... that could explain a new interior.... especially if the airbags went off, sometimes you can find a donor vehicle with a full interior for cheaper than replacing the airbags

 

I dunno if it will help, but on my dad's truck we recently found the wire for the airbag thing had rubbed in two. The autobody guy that found it said that the airbag could have popped out at any random time while driving down the road. Like I said I dont know if it helps, but could be worth looking into. If all else fails take it to a Ford Dealership and have them put their sensor on it.
